《少年天子》综论

Review on“The Young Emperor”

凌力的《少年天子》通过对顺治朝发生的一系列事情的描写,重点塑造了福临、庄太后、乌云珠等人物形象,全方位地描写了清初上层社会尤其是皇帝与大臣,以及宫廷内部后妃之间的矛盾冲突,展示了清初各个社会阶层成员的生活、精神与命运,批判了封建专制制度对人性的戕害,形象地说明了中国社会变革的艰难;小说结构宏大而又严谨,线索清晰且主次分明,人物形象个性鲜明、栩栩如生,心理描写惟妙惟肖而又合情合理,注重对诗词曲的运用,语言自然、典雅、蕴藉、精美而又抒情;同时,小说也存在着乌云珠这一形象"概念化"倾向明显、前半部分头绪太多等缺憾。

＂The Young Emperor＂ by Ling Li describes a series of events under the ruling of Shunzhi Emperor in Qing dy- nasty. It mainly creates images such as Fu Lin, Empress Dowager Zhuang, Wu Yunzhu and so on; it also produces a comprehen- sive description of internal conflicts amongst the upper class especially between the emperor and ministers, the Queen and impe- rial concubines in the early Qing dynasty; it shows the life and spirit of each social classes; it accuses the feudal autocratic system of doing harm to human nature. All these vividly illustrate the difficulties of China＇s social transformation. This novel has a grand and rigorous structure, clear contextual clues and priority, distinct and vivid characters, realistic and reasonable psychological de- piction with a massive use of poetry and the natural, elegant, thought-provoking, lyrical language. At the same time, some draw- backs such as the conceptualization of the image of Wu Yunzhu and too many clues in the former part also exist.
