龚古尔兄弟小说诗学的核心是对人类进行观察和探索,小说的叙述重心是分析影响人物命运的原因.两兄弟受科学一实证主义的思潮影响,尝试将自然科学融入到小说创作,借助生理学、遗传学等科学原理,深入人类的生理本质和本能欲望层面;手法上,自觉采用从事实、现象推知规律、本质的分析法.这种做法奠定了分析小说类型的写作范式和美学特征,为左拉等自然主义作家创作做了突破性的拓荒工作.分析小说对内心波动、本能欲望的探究和揭示与20世纪现代派小说文脉相通.
The core idea of the novel poetic proposed by the Goncourt brothers, is the observation and research of people, their novelsfocused on analyzing the reason what shape the destiny. Influenced by the trend of scientific positivism, the Goncourt brothers attemptedto integrate nature science into their novels. By means of biological, genetics and other scientific principles, they mined the spiritunderlying figures and human biological instinct; they adopted consciously the analytical method, to extrapolate rule and essencefrom fact and phenomenon. They established the writing model and aesthetic features of analytic novel, and also play a pioneer role innaturalist literature. In research and reveal the inner activities and instinct desire, analytic novel would be developed into the essence ofthe 20th century modern novel.
