On the basis of introducing the practice of small and medium-sized professional library in carrying out the information reference service, this paper summarizes the goals, conditions, processes, methods and results evaluation system of s mall and medium-sized professional library’s information reference service, and probes into the experiences of small and medium-sized professional library in carrying out the information reference service and providing strong support for scientific research institutions under the adverse conditions of limited financial budget and scarce human resource.
