This article aims to interpret and explain traditional Chinese culture and explore the value of its sustainable development from the philosophical perspective. It emphasizes on the construction of conscious sustainability concept, the value review of realistic practice and facing the future. The article explains the origin of unsustainable human development in contemporary era and attempts to explore the sus-tainable development pattern with Chinese characteristics and seeks for its own development pattern from wonderful historical contingencies.
