空主语参数特征簇中介语习得程度的变量集相关性研究

A variable-set correlation study on L2 acquisition of feature clustering related to the Null-subject Parameter in Chinese-English interlanguage grammar

摘要 理论语言学研究把空主语参数分析为几种值项的特征簇,而相关的母语习得研究则关注不同值项间的共变性。但目前的中介语研究却只针对空主语参数的某个单一值项展开实证调查。本研究以中介语研究中的这种片面性为切入点,通过简单相关分析方案检验空主语参数的三个值项在中介语发展中的关联性。结果发现,在三个值项的两两对比分析中,只有虚指主语和"that-语迹"连用限制这两个值项在中介语语法中呈现出内在联系,而变量集相关分析显示,语言能力可能是有助于不同值项同步发展的协调性因素。研究的启示在于,同一参数的不同值项在中介语发展中可能存在一致性,但其呈现方式则受制于语言水平和源语-目标语在相关值项方面的类型学差异度。 Research in theoretical linguistics analyzes Null-subject Parameter as a feature-clustering of several values,and L1 acquisition studies are also concerned with the co-variation of different values.In contrast,the current interlanguage research mostly selects only one of the values of the Null-subject Parameter to conduct empirical studies.In an attempt to offset this bias,the present study,employing simple correlation and variable-set correlation analyses,aims to reveal the inherent concordance between the three values of the Null-subject Parameter.Results of simple correlation analysis show that only expletive subjects followed by that-trace constrained the two values from developing concordance in interlanguage grammar.Results of variable-set correlation analysis indicate that language proficiency alone could be a facilitative factor.The study suggests that different values of the same parameter might follow the same course in interlanguage development,but that the way how they are presented is subject to language proficiency and the extent of typological variation between the source language and the target language.
