Miao writer Xiang Ben-gui＇s stories simply display the differences between＂looking at＂the countryside and ＂seeing ＂ the countryside. They also indicate various anti-modernity compartments existing everywhere in rural areas now. He has＂seen＂today＇ s rural areas full of collapse and disorder,even some kind of secret spiritual pain in many aspects. Farmers in his novels are not only the distressed objects,but also the equal subjects forced and looted by modernity. Particularly,Xiang Ben-gui wrote about abidance by kindness of the weak,showing the writer ＇ s courage to face the current theoretical predicaments and becoming a symbol of him as ＂a farmer of thoughts＂.
