文化资本理论视野下的英语学习动机与自我认同的建构——对理工科硕士研究生英语学习的定量考察

摘要 文化资本理论认为,学习者的动机以及自我认同不仅仅是一个心理学概念,更是一个社会学概念。诸多体现学习者社会阶层的个人因素与学生的学习动机,自我认同相互交织,相互影响。本研究对某综合性大学的理工科硕士研究生开展定量考察,分析代表英语学习者社会阶层的个人因素,学习动机及自我认同的特点及相互关系。研究表明,在硕士研究生阶段,理工科的英语学习者间表现为学习动机,自我认同的差异往往与其所处的社会阶层有一定的联系。不同社会阶层的英语学习者与英语学习过程的互动也不尽相同。在日渐多元的社会,如何构建和谐的英语学习生态,帮助来自不同地域以及不同社会阶层的学生获得最大的发展,是英语老师需要探讨的课题。 According to Cultural Capital Theory, motivation and self-identity is not just a psychological concept, but also a social concept. A quantitative study on the English learning of master students of science and engineering was to analyze the personal factors that originate from different social groups, leaners' motivation and self-identities, and their interrelationships. The study shows that the learners' differences in motivation and self-identity have some relation with their social groups, and students from various social groups also interact differently with the language learning process. In this new era, it' s the teacher' s responsibility to build a harmonious learning ecology to help students with diversified backgrounds to achieve the best development and live a more fruitful and confident life.
