Heavy metal pollution in crops has aroused lots of public attentions. In order to verify the influence of road traffic on the Cadmium pollution of crops,Cadmium contents in crops and soils in different distances on the side of different roads, including expressway, national road, and county road were analyzed.Cd in PM2.5 or PM10 from the expressway exits, living quarters and beauty spots were also investigated. The results showed that the influence of road traffic on the Cd contents in crops were not significant.Cd contents in all of the crops detected met the green food criterion.Crops got Cd directly from soils or atmosphere. No evident effect of road traffic on Cd accumulation was found in soil or PM10 or PM2.5 samples.Cd contents in all of the soil samples met the green food criterion. There were no relationships between Cd contents in soils and the distances from roads. There were also no significant differences of Cd in PM2.5 or PM10 among the expressway exits, the living quarters and the beauty spots.
