On the Contemporary Significance of the Notion of Harmony of the Miao People

在长期的历史进程中,苗族形成了以和为贵、耻于诉讼、团结互助等思想观念。这些和谐思想观念,能够为当前中国由于理性化、个人主义等现代性带来的诸多社会问题的解决提供启迪,为正在快速陌生人化的中国社会提供帮助,为构建中国民族地区多元化纠纷解决机制提供借鉴。

As a result of long development,the Miao people have come to believe in peace,unity, mutual help and resentment to lawsuit - notions that can 1）shed light on our search for solution to various social problems facing today’s China brought about by rationalist and individualist thoughts;2）help the Chinese society where people are becoming increasingly strange to each other;and 3）help construct a multi - channel dispute - settlement mechanism in the areas inhabited mainly by the minority peoples.
