论罗素对古巴危机的调解

出于担心古巴危机会引发世界核战争的顾虑,罗素积极介入古巴危机并在美苏等国之间进行斡旋和调解。在此过程中,罗素曾把古巴危机发生的责任一直错误地归咎于美国,而对苏联在古巴危机中的表现则高度称赞。与此同时,罗素还向苏联、美国、古巴和联合国等呼吁妥协和调解。在罗素看来,恰是他的调解才使苏联将导弹撤出古巴。其实,古巴危机的真正解除是由于苏联见证了美国的军事实力后,自认自己军事实力不足以对抗美国而后主动撤出古巴的结果,而罗素的调停恰为苏联将导弹撤出古巴提供了一个借口。尽管罗素在此事件中只发挥了一个表面调停人的作用,但是他仍然值得全世界爱好和平的人们学习。

As Russell was afraid that the Cuban Missile Crisis would trigger a global nuclear war, he actively involved in the Cuban Missile Crisis and mediated between the Soviet Union, the United States and other countries. In the meantime, Russell had been mistaken the USA for arch-criminal of the Cuban Crisis and highly praised the Soviet Union for its behavior. At the same time, Russell also appealed to compromise and mediation among the Soviet Union, the United States, Cuba and the UN. In the viewpoint of Russell, it was his mediation that made the Soviet Union retreated its missiles from cuba. In fact, the real solution to the Cuban Crisis was because the Soviet Union witnessed the US military strength and actively retreated from Cuba. Of course, Russell＇s mediation provided an excuse exactly for the Soviet Union to retreat. Although Russell didn＇t play a real role in this event, still he was worthy studying for the world peaceloving people.
