2008年2月24日,国务院正式批准设立宁波梅山保税港区。梅山,由此一跃成为继上海洋山、天津东疆、大连大窑湾、海南洋浦之后的中国第5个保税港区。从这一天起,梅山岛开始了令人炫目的蜕变。
Meishan is a small island 50 kilometers away from urban Ningbo. It used to be a fishing island making living by salt production and aquaculture, with very small population. But the island has great potential in port development. On Feb 24, 2008, the State Council formally approved the establishment of Ningbo bonded port area of Meishan, the Fifth bonded port area in China. Since then, the island of Meishan began its beautiful changes.
