英汉动物词汇的文化异同对比——以“兔”文化词汇为例

Comparison Study on Similarities and Differences of English and Chinese Animal Words——Taking the Cultural Word“Rabbit or Hare”for Example

语言是人类生活的重要组成部分。一个国家的语言反映其相应的文化,而词汇作为构成语言的基本因子,则是一种直观的文化表现形式。英汉两种语言自诞生至今,各类词汇丰富,与动物有关的习语(成语)和用法很多,这些习语和用法往往具备多种内涵。如果不了解这些内涵,人们在理解两种语言的过程中就会产生误解,从而影响两种语言和文化的交流与交际。以"兔"词汇为例,通过比较英汉语言中有关兔子习语(成语)的含义差别,可以管窥两种语言及其文化的差异,有利于进一步丰富跨文化交际理论,提升跨文化交际能力和水平。

The language of a country can reflect its culture,and one of the forms of expression is its words or vocabulary.The vocabulary of Chinese and English is abundant,containing lots of idioms or usages of animal words.Since there is ample intension of the animal words,the speakers can not com-municate effectively unless they have a good understanding of them.On the basis of this line of think-ing ,we should illustrate their similarities and differences by a comparative analysis to know them bet-ter and enhance the communication between the two cultures.
