The present situation of waste electrical and electronic equipment processing industry in Shanghai was described by analysing the related aspects such as the ability of dismantling, processing technology, risk of the industry, and etc. Combining the investigation on dismantling industry in Shanghai and the implementation of fund for waste electrical and electronic equipment, suggestions and countermeasures were put forward. Development trends of the dismantling industry in China were proposed as well.
