Bacon and Machiavelli:Comparative Study on their Imperial Art

培根和马基雅维利是欧洲文艺复兴时期杰出的思想家,二人思想中都包含大量帝王术的内容。比较发现,彼此之间存在诸多相似和差异之处。相似之处有:政治上都鼓吹君主专制;经济上都倡导保护私有财产;都强调军事力量对维护君权的重要性。差异之处有:政治上,培根对君权提出诸善德要求,而马基雅维利则较少;经济上,培根主张国家干预经济,而马基雅维利相对主张自由发展;军事上,培根关注的重点是军事力量的经营,马基雅维利关注的多为军事力量的取得。

The differences are： Bacon requires the monarchical power to be good, Machiavelli not; Bacon proposals state intervention in economy, Machiavelli proposals free development of economy; Bacon focus on the military operation, Machiavelli focus on achieving military 1oower.
