In 1922, future Surrealist icon Salvador Dali entered the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando in Madrid. Dali had only applied[申请] to the school after being encouraged by his father, and from the beginning, he was none too impressed with its faculty[全体教员] immediately understood that those old professors covered with honors and decorations[奖章] could teach me nothing,＂ he later wrote.
