跨文化交际视野中公示语汉英翻译研究——以武汉市辛亥旅游景点公示语翻译为例

A Cultural Study of the C-E Translation of Public Signs

公示语汉英翻译的目的是让受众准确理解、接受公示语译文传递的信息和指令。要实现这个目的,译者必须将公示语翻译放在跨文化交际的视野中进行研究,以目的语为归宿,考虑公示语译文的可接受性。通过调研武汉市辛亥旅游景点公示语翻译,对其翻译现状进行了客观的评价后发现,跨文化交际视野中的公示语翻译绝不仅仅是两种语言符号之间的形式转换,而且也是一种文化转换模式。跨文化交际视野中的公示语翻译应采用交际翻译法。

The purpose of public signs translation is to deliver the information and instruction, and tomake the recipients understood and follow the instruction. To achieve the purpose, translators need to take into consideration the translation of public signs from the cross-cultural perspective, and the features of target language and the acceptability of the recipients.While translating, parallel texts of public signs can be a good reference and help translator find a more authentic version.By considering the results from a survey on the translation of public signs in several scenic spots of Revolution 1911 around Wuhan, the paper intends to make an analysis on the classified errors among the translation of public signs.Then, through the discussion on the text functions of public signs, the author attempts to explore the translation strategies and specific methods for public signs from the communicative translation approach.
