摘要
谚语是各个民族语言的一个重要组成部分。谚语以其凝练、通俗、生动、形象、音韵和谐、富含哲理的特点而成为各民族民间文学的一朵奇葩。谚语集知识性、趣味性、文学性于一身,是各个民族劳动人民高度智慧的结晶。文章主要对英汉谚语的来源、特点及其语用功能进行对比分析,旨在加强读者对英汉谚语两者关系的认识和对英汉文化异同的进一步了解。
Proverbs are an important part of languages. They become an outstanding flower because of their conciseness, popularity, liveliness, rhythmic harmoniousness and philosophy. Proverbs are knowledgeable, interesting and literary. They are the fruits of peoples＇ wisdom. This paper conducts a contrastive analysis of the sources, features of English and Chinese proverbs and their pragmatic functions so that the readers can better understand the relations and cultural differences and similarities between English and Chinese proverbs.
