目前两岸汉字的使用,客观上已形成了一文两体,简繁二元并存的格局。简繁体都是汉字,都承载并胜任传承中华文明的重任,发挥着同样的作用,只是不同社区使用选择不同而已。繁简体没有优劣、正与不正之分,"以己为是,以人为非"都是狭隘的旧思维。变"二元并存"为"一元统一",最终实现两岸社会"书同文"的目标非短时间内能实现,在较长一个时期内一定程度上"简繁由之",是不错的主张。

The present application of Chinese characters on both sides of Taiwan Strait presented as one text with two forms of Chinese Characters simultaneously and traditional and simplified Chinese characters coexist objec- tively. Traditional and simplified Chinese characters have played the same role in carrying out the important task of inheriting the heritage of Chinese civilization. The use of traditional or simplified Chinese characters is only the choice of two sides of Taiwan Strait. It does not mean traditional Chinese character is better than simplified Chi- nese character and vice versa. To be little others in order to raise one-self is a narrow old idea. We can not a- chieve the final goal in short time to realize SHUTONGWEN in the cross-strait societies, and to change the coexistence of binary forms of Chinese characters into one united form Chinese characters. It is not a bad idea to some extent that the use of traditional or simplified Chinese characters in cross-strait societies according their preference in a long period.
