摘要
纠正性反馈已经成为应用语言学研究的示范性议题,同时可能也是该领域最具争议的研究议题之一。本文围绕二语写作语法纠错(又称"书面纠正性反馈")的Bruton与Truscott之争,回顾了该争论的大致过程,梳理了双方在纠错效果、纠错研究方法等关键问题上的基本观点,同时分析了各自论争的出发点与逻辑。文章最后就书面纠正性反馈及其研究提出了自己的思考,以期对未来二语习得与二语写作研究有所启发。
Corrective feedback has become an exemplary topic and one of the most controversial issues in applied linguistics. This article takes as its object of study the debate between Bruton and Truscott on grammar correction in L2 writing(or written corrective feedback). After briefly describing the process of the debate,it presents the views of the two parties on such major issues as the effectiveness of grammar correction and the design of grammar correction research. It then analyzes their points of departure and logic of argumentation in the debate. Finally, some reflections are offered on written corrective feedback, in the hope of shedding some light on further studies on L2 writing in particular and on SLA in general.
