A Study of the Newly Excavated Epitaph of Murong Huan——a Member of the Tuyuhun Royal Family In the Tang Dynasty

西安市长安区博物馆收藏之慕容环墓志铭主要记载了志主慕容环的家族世系和仕宦经历。该墓志铭为研究安史之乱后吐谷浑慕容氏的政治动向、在唐入仕途径、家族汉化提供了新资料,将吐谷浑慕容氏在唐活动时间推至元和年间,为见证入唐吐各浑慕容氏家族历史的珍贵文物。

The Epitaph of Murong Huan, collected in the Chang An district museum of Xi An municipality, mainly records Murong Huan's family line and his official career.This epitaph provides a piece of new material for study of Tuyuhun Murong Clan's political trends after An and Shi rebellion, official careers of their royal family members, and their sinicization. This epitaph has made the Murong Clan's activity history available till the Yuanhe(元和) years. It is a precious relic for witness of the Tuyuhun Murong Clan's history in the Tang Dynasty.
