On Cultural Self-awareness and Local Records Compilation

在地方志发展过程中,文化自觉意识起着精神指引的作用。但是在不同的历史阶段,文化自觉意识具有不同的内涵、形式。传统志书、首轮志书编纂中,文化自觉意识的表现形式与深刻影响表现在诸如以儒家核心价值为导向、以传承地域文脉为宗旨;明古详今,鉴往知来;挖掘特色,彰显个性。在将文化传统与现实发展对接的基础上,第二轮志书编纂体现文化自觉的特点与要求包括敬古与明古并重、明今与详今齐观、人文与科学同驱等。

During the course of development of local records, cultural self-awareness plays the role of spiritual guaidance. But in different historical phases, cultural self-awareness has different meanings and formalities. During the compilation of traditional local records and the first-round local records, the forms and deep influences of cultural self-awareness can be seen in areas such as taking Confucian core values as its orientation, taking inheritance of local literary traditions as its goal,clear understanding of the past and detailed recordings of the present,taking lessons from the past in studying the future, and exploring unique features and projecting characteristics. On the basis of connecting cultural traditions and contemporarydevelopment,the feature and requirement of incorporating cultural self-awareness in the compilation of the second-round local records include equal emphasis on respecting and clear understanding of the past, on clear understanding of the present and detailed recording of the present, and on humanities and sciences.
