It be…that-clause is a commonly-used sentence pattern with typical constructions, however, it is used so flexibly that it presents different grammatical functions in different contexts, and thus, it conveys different syntactical functions. This article presents a corpus-based profound analysis of the grammatical functions and language features of 'It be…that-clause'. The purpose of it is to clear up its ambiguity and probe into its syntactical functions.
