Great Pearl River Delta Urban Agglomeration Development: Characteristics,Issues and Strategies

城市群是新型城镇化的空间布局和具体形态,关系到人口、经济与资源环境的相互协调和中国现代化建设的大局。国家"十二五"规划和《珠三角规划纲要》提出,粤港澳携手打造亚太地区最具活力和国际竞争力的城市群,率先形成最具发展空间和增长潜力的世界级新经济区域,并力争在"十二五"期间大珠三角世界级城市群的格局基本形成。本文在开展大珠三角城市群与世界级城市群之间进行对比分析的基础上,概括了大珠三角城市群的基本内涵和发展特征,找出了发展差距和影响竞争力的主要因素,最后就提升大珠三角城市群国际竞争力提出了对策建议。

The urban agglomeration is a spatial distribution and specific pattern of the New-type Urbanization,which is related to the coordination of the population,economic resources and the environment,as well as to the modernization of China. The National'Twelfth Five-Year'Plan and the'Pearl River Delta Plan'propose that Guangdong,Hong Kong and Macao should work together to create the most dynamic and internationally competitive urban agglomeration in Asia Pacific,lead in forming the most enormous space of development and greatest potential for development,strive to form the world-class urban agglomeration of Greater Pearl River Delta during the Twelfth Five-Year. Based on the comparative analysis of the Great Pearl River Delta urban agglomeration and the world-class urban agglomeration,we summarize the basic connotation and development characteristics of the Great Pearl River Delta urban agglomeration,identify the gaps in development and the main factors affecting their competitiveness,and finally propose the countermeasures to enhance the international competitiveness of the Greater Pearl River Delta urban agglomeration.
