The Panathenaia was a religious festival in which the ancient Athenians worshipped the goddess Athena Pallas. It was also one of the most significant polis festivals in Athens. From the foundation to its rising, the Panathenaia accompanied with the development of its polis. In addition, the Athenian polis ideology was also reflected in the festival＇s games and rituals. The Panatheaia was an important public occasion for Athenians to convey their civic ideas and express their polis ideology.
