国际主题与女性人物是亨利·詹姆斯文学创作中不可分割的两个重要方面。《德莫福夫人》是亨利．詹姆斯的早期作品刻画了一个被忽视、被压抑的女性形象——德莫福夫人，也是作家对国际题材的首次尝试。许多国内外学者围绕作品所体现的“国际主题”和德莫福夫人的爱情婚姻悲剧，从不同的批评视角提出了自己的理解和看法。运用生态女性主义的观点探讨詹姆斯的《德莫福夫人》，旨在阐明他是一个具有生态女性主义意识的作家。
International theme and woman character are the two indispensible aspects in the literary creation of Henry James. Madame De Mouves, one of his early novels, depicts a female character, Madame De Mouves, who has been ig- nored and repressed. It is also the writer＇ s first attempt for international theme. Many scholars at home and abroad have put forward their own understandings and opinions concerned with the novel. They use different critical approaches to com- ment on ＂the International Theme＂, and the tragedy of the heroine＇ s love and marriage. This paper applies Eco-feminist i- deas to the exploration of Madame De Mouves and thus to reveal Henry James＇ s Eco-feminist consciousness.
