A CDA Ideological Analysis on MH 370 Reports from CNN and Malaysia Airlines

以CNN和马航官网报道马航失联航班MH370的新闻为话语分析语料,借鉴Fairclough的批评话语三维分析模型,以及在此基础上拓展的理论框架,通过对比、分析语料在描述、解释和阐释等方面的不同及其所反映的国家统治阶级意识形态差异,帮助人们提高对新闻话语的敏感性,提高批判性阅读与信息接收的能力。

Through the study of language, Critical Discourse Analysis aims to expose the ideology and power abuse embedded in language. The author extends the three-dimensional framework postulated by Fairclough and uses it as an analytical base. By means of the comparative study of news reports on MH370 from CNN and Malaysia Airline this paper intends to probe into the different intentions and ideology in the description, interpretation and explanation of texts, which will hopefully raise people’s sensitivity in news reading and informational gathering.
