This article expounds the theoretical basis of catgut embedding therapy and its application to respiratory system diseases including bronchial asthma, chronic bronchitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, allergic rhinitis and chronic pharyngitis and preliminarily summarizes the mechanism of its action to further guide the clinical application of catgut embedding therapy to respiratory system diseases and its research.
