应用型本科院校英语专业毕业论文的调查与思考

An Inquiry into and Reflection on the Current State of Thesis Writing among the Graduating English Majors in Application-oriented Universities

文章通过对湖南省十所应用型本科院校2013届英语专业毕业论文的形式、选题、撰写过程等方面的现状的调查分析,认为这些学校英语专业毕业论文质量不高,论文理论性过强,应用性不明显,主要原因是英语专业课程体系与应用型人才培养目标不够融合。提出必须改革基础课程体系,突显专业课程的应用性,建立毕业论文课程体系,以提高应用型本科院校英语专业毕业论文的质量并体现其特色。

An inquiry is made into the current situation of thesis writing of English graduates in the year 2013 in ten application- oriented universities in Hunan Province in terms of form,topic selection,writing process,etc. It is found that the theses are of low quality,which emphasizes more on theory than applicability. The main reason is the curriculum system doesn＇t integrate with the aim of cultivating practical talents. It is suggested that the curriculum system of both basic and specialized courses be reformed and the thesis curriculum system be established as to improve the quality of theses and embody their characteristics.
