在不同时期、不同场合下,吴湖帆表现出了截然不同的书画鉴定态度。对待重要藏品,吴氏坚持严谨细致的态度,这部分鉴定工作占据他鉴定工作的最大比例。即便是对一些藏品的"游戏"态度,也是认真审定后所表现出来的。

Wu Hufan's attitudes to authenticate Chinese painting and calligraphy were different due to different periods and situations. His attitude was rigorous and meticulous while he was authenticating painting and calligraphy that took nearly all his vigor in doing his work. Even his attitude of recreation to some objects has shown after he had finished his work.
