The paper takes website revision of Ningbo Library for example, illustrates that website construction has to follow basic principles of reader first, convenient use, outstanding feature and friendly interface, and that preliminary investigation, function design, page framing, website release, and maintenance administration should be done well in process of the reader-oriented website construction. It points out that sound and high-efficient information release system, convenient mutual channels and reasonable and ordered resource allocation are key factors of successful website construction.
