On Nov.17, landmark Shanghai-HK stock connect kicks off. The Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect gives investors the ability to buy stocks listed in China's Mainland and permits Chinese investors to buy stocks listed in Hong Kong. The connect program is conducive to 'consolidating the role of Hong Kong as an international financial center', and 'speeding up the building of Shanghai as an international financial center', said China Securities Regulatory Commission chairman Xiao Gang.
