Vitamin E is a natural antioxidant, is the essential factor of cell respiration, which involves the synthesis of DNA, vitamin C and coenzyme Q in the body, and is also closely related to reproductive and immune function in animals. This paper reviews the effect of vitamin E on productive performance, meat quality, reproductive performance, immune function, antioxidant capacity and blood biochemical indexes in ruminants, with the aim to provide theoretical basis for its application in ruminant feeds.
