Progress of transforming growth factor-β in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma

摘要 转化生长因子-β(TGF-β)是一种具有多功能生物活性的细胞因子,调控细胞增殖、分化、迁移、凋亡、粘附、血管生成、免疫监视和存活等。在人类头颈部鳞状细胞癌中TGF-β过表达,TGF-β通过促进血管生成与炎症、诱发免疫逃逸、促进上皮-间充质转化等多种机制来促进肿瘤细胞的浸润和转移,TGF-β与癌症发生、恶性进展以及预后密切相关。本文就TGF-β与头颈鳞癌的研究进展进行综述。 Transforming growth factor-beta(TGF-β ) is a multifunctional regulatory polypeptide and the prototypical member of a large family of cytokines, and controls many aspects of cellular functions, including cellular proliferation, differentiation, migration, apoptosis, adhesion, angiogenesis, immune surveillance and survival. The overexpression of TGF-β was found in human cancers in vivo, including head and neck squamous cell carcinoma(HNSCC). TGF-β promotes tumor growth and metastases through increasing angiogenesis and inflammation in tumor stromal cells, inducing tumor evasion from the host immune surveillance and epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT), and is involved in the pathogenesis and progress and prognosis of cancer cells.This review focuses the background information of TGF-β and updates the status of the role of TGF-β in HNSCC.
