基于顺应论的汉英标识语翻译

Translation of Chinese and English Public Signs Based on Theory of Linguistic Adaptation

汉英标识语中英语标识拼写错误、语法混乱、中式英语、表达不清、乱译、硬译等问题屡见不鲜。本文介绍了标识语具有的指示、提示、限制、强制性四种应用功能,比较了汉英标识语的差异,分析了英语标识语的语言特征,在此基础上,从顺应论出发,提出了标识语英译的恰当策略。

There are always English spelling mistakes,grammatical disorders,unclear expressions,arbitrary translation,rigid translation,Chinglish in English translation of public signs.This paper introduces the four functions of instructing,prompting,limiting and compelling which label the public signs and analyses the linguistic features of the public signs.Then it puts forward the appropriate strategies for the translation of public signs from the perspective of adaptation theory.
