《性本恶》是美国后现代大师托马斯·品钦的作品,被称为他个人历史上最好读的自我解构之作,是品钦众多实验作品之一,其写作风格依然独树一帜。文章将从悖论性的角度解读小说中人物比格福特这一警督形象,着重分析他不同于传统警察形象的偏见与邪恶,并试图证明品钦旨在通过这样的方式,引导读者对个人与社会的重新思考与定位。
Inherent Vice is a recent novel of Thomas Pynchon, the famous American master of postmodernism. It is said to be Pynchon＇s self-deconstructive work and the easiest one to read. However, as one of Pynchon＇s experimental writings, the style of this novel is still unique. Through the use of paradoxes, Pynchon successfully portrays a cop who is full of prejudice and vice, thus invites readers to reconsider the role of individuals and society.
