抗日战争后陈焕镛为保存植物标本遭受指控案

Accusation Aganinst Woonyoung Chun After the Anti-Japanese War

1937年抗日战争全面爆发,翌年广州即面临沦陷,中山大学农林植物研究所所长陈焕镛为保存该所珍贵物品,自行将标本、图书、仪器迁移至香港九龙,以策安全。1941年12月8日太平洋战争爆发,日军又进犯香港,植物所被封锁。汪伪政府广东省教育厅长林汝珩为拉拢学界名流,为伪政府服务,特来植物所,与陈焕镛面商,劝其率领全体职员及眷属回穗,其可以协助,将公物运回。回广州之后,研究所相对独立,可继续从事研究。陈焕镛遂决定与伪政府合作。陈焕镛在抗战之后被指控为汉奸,引发一段诉讼案。对此案广东省高等法院最终作出免于起诉处分。

The outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War in 1937 was followed by Guangzhou's seizure next year. In order to protect the precious specimen, books and instruments, Woonyoung Chun, Director of Institute of Agriculture and Forestry Botany of Sun Yatsen University, transferred them to Kowloon, Hong Kong. On December 8, 1941, the Pacifi c war broke out and the Japanese army occupied Hong Kong, where the Institute was trapped. Lin Ruheng, then the Chief Director of Guangdong Education Bureau of Wang Puppet Government, came to Woonyoung Chun and advised him to get back to Guangzhou with his staffs and their families, and promised to help them transfer their property back to Guangzhou. There the Institute would be relatively independent and could continue their research, so Woonyoung Chun decided to cooperate with the Puppet Government for fear that the precious public property be lost to the enemy. After the Anti-Japanese War, Woonyoung Chun was accused of having been a traitor and got involved into a lawsuit. The case had drawn the attention of just people with repeated calls, so the Supreme Court of Guangdong Province fi nally granted him immunity from prosecution
