摘要
1923年，苏州工业专科学校为适应当时中国建筑发展的需要，在全国高校首创建筑科，这是中国近现代建筑教育史上一个里程碑事件。建筑科创办后，许多专家、学者及名匠来校任教，为现代中国建筑业的发展培养了很多高级实用人才，实现了晚清以来中国人创建自己的建筑学科的梦想，因而载入中国建筑教育的史册。
In 1923, the Architecture Department was founded in Suzhou Technical School to meet the architectural development of China, which was the first architecture department among the higher education institutions nationwide at that time, and was a milestone in the architectural education history in modern and contemporary China. Numerous experts, scholars and famous craftsmen taught in the department since its foundation, which brought forth lots of high- level applied talents for the development of modern China＇s architecture. The department realized an architectural education dream harbored by the Chinese people since late Qing Dynasty, and became a part of China＇s architectural education history.
