随着公共图书馆社区服务的延伸,社群信息学为公共图书馆的理论和实践研究打开了新的视角,公共图书馆已成为社群信息学的主要实践领域。在与公共图书馆的互动中,社群信息学理论所包含的社群主义、社会网络、社会资本和赋权等逐渐在公共图书馆领域有所渗透,在保障信息公平、促进社会包容、促进公民参与、保障公民权利实现等方面丰富了公共图书馆使命的表达。

With the extension of the community service of public libraries, Community Informatics （CI） has opened a new perspective for researches on the theory and the practice of public libraries which has already become the main practice area of CI. in the interaction with public libraries, the communitarianism, the social network, the social capital and the empowerment included by the theory of CI has gradually permeated into the field of public libraries, and have enriched the expression of the mission of public libraries in ensuring the information equity, promoting the social inclusion and the citizen participation, and protecting the the realization of the civil right.
