On OAU's Historical Role in the Decolonization Process of Southern Africa

非统是南部非洲非殖民化事业取得胜利的重要推动力量。它将非殖民化作为自己的宗旨和处事原则,倡导和坚持民族自决权,极大地鼓舞了南部非洲人民。它从道义、政治、经济和军事等多方面支持和援助南部非洲的非殖民化运动,积极支持南部非洲人民反对种族主义统治的斗争,制裁和孤立白人少数种族主义政权,迫使后者让步,最终推动了该地区的国家独立和民族解放。

OAU( Organization of Africa Unity) was the most important external driving force for the decolonization process of Southern Africa. It regarded decolonization as its aim and principle,advocated and stuck to the right of national self-determination,which greatly inspired the people of Southern Africa. It provided moral,political,economical,and military assistance and aid for the decolonization movement of Southern Africa,positively supported their struggles against the rule of racism,isolated and took sanctions against the white minority's racist regimes,and forced the latter to make a compromise,and eventually promoted the political independence and national liberation of the region.
