佛教研究方法是伴随着佛教研究的展开和深入逐步受到重视,并持续被探讨的重要课题。D.Seyfort Ruegg的《哲学在佛教研究中地位的若干反思》是欧美学界的重要篇章。相比欧美学界,华语佛教研究的传统、重点和方法都有所不同,印顺法师《以佛法研究佛法》可用做参照。本文分析对比了D.Seyfort Ruegg和印顺的佛学研究方法,以展示佛教研究的多元视角。

Buddhist research methods become a theme which has received more attention. Among the Euramefican academ- ic community attaching much importance to methodology, Some Reflections on The Place of Philosophy in the Study of Bud- dh/sm by D. Seyfort Ruegg is deemed as an article that cannot be neglected. In contrast, Chinese Buddhist studies present a very different situation over the tradition, focuses as well as approaches. This paper analyzes and compares methods em- ployed by D. Seyfort Ruegg and Yinshun through their respective researches on Buddhism, with the aim to show multiple perspectives in Buddhist studies.
