A Critique of Foreign English Reading and Writing Coursebooks

摘要教材是外语学习的重要载体,有着不可或缺的地位。国内外在教材编写方面都有大量的研究和成功的经验。近十年来,国内外出版社出版了一批非常有影响的教材。本文简要评述这些教材在教材定位、编写理念、编写目的,阅读与写作的关系以及练习设计等方面的特色,以期对我国的教材建设提供借鉴与参考。 Coursebooks play a crucial role in foreign language learning and teaching. Lots of research has been done into coursebook writing and a variety of well-accepted coursebooks have been published by foreign presses in the recent decade. The paper gives a brief review regarding the philosophy,the purpose,the relationship between reading and writing,as well as exercise design of reading and writing coursebooks,with a view to offering some instructive insight for material development at home.
