试论近代教会大学的中国化特点

The features of Church-operated universities' chinalization

近代教会大学在中国的发展并不是一味地进行宗教传播和对西方教育体制进行复制,而是在不断地调整自身定位、办学目标与专业设置等以适应中国的社会历史条件。教会大学中国化的努力,不仅实现了其本身的生存与发展,也在中国高等教育的近代化与人才培养中起到了重要作用。本文通过分析教会大学中国化的特点及其随后产生的影响,旨在正确认识教会大学在中国的发展。

The development of church-operated universities in modern China didn’t only involve religious dissemination or duplication of western colleges.In reality these universities consistently did changes to their aims,operation systems and programs so as to cope with the changes in China.The chinalization of church-operated universities guaranteed the development of themselves,and in the meantime,played im-portant roles in the modernization of Chinese higher education.This paper analyzes the features of church-operated universities’chinalization and its influence with the hope of better understanding these universi-ties’presence in China.
