Trade frictions in the global era are inevitable, while language as an important communication tool plays an important role in dealing and solving trade frictions. Ideology in governmental discourse is closely related with conceptual metaphors. Through categorizing and analyzing conceptual metaphors in press releases published by Office of the United States Trade Representative, underlying ideology of the United States is revealed.
