青岛有着蜿蜒730公里的海岸线和多处优良的港湾。自古以来,青岛海域一直是中国南北交通、海外交流的重要海上通道和海防要地。历史的积淀赋予了这片蔚蓝的海域太多未知的故事,而这些未知的"故事"也急需揭开它神秘的面纱。2014年,对于青岛水下考古工作来说,是具有突破性的一年,也因此翻开了青岛水下文化遗产保护工作的新篇章。
For Qingdao's underwater archaeological work,the year 2014 undoubtedly is a year of breakthrough,which ushers in a new beginning for the protection of the underwater cultural heritages in Qingdao.In January,the signing ceremony for joint construction of the Beihai Base of the Underwater Cultural Heritage Protection Center of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage was held in Qingdao,which symbolized that the Beihai Base was settled in Qingdao Ocean-Based R&D Core Area.In September, 'Chinese Archaeology 01,' which is the first underwater archaeological vessel independently developed,designed and built by China,berthed in Qingdao and made its maiden voyage.With the settlement of 'Chinese Archaeology 01' in Qingdao,constantly exploration will be made on the 'Queen Elizabeth',a ship sunk in the sea off Qingdao,which will provide reference for similar underwater archaeological work in China and boost China's international prestige in the field of underwater cultural heritage protection.
