A Discussion of the Relationship between Metadiscourse and Intersubjectivity

元话语是人表义过程中的常用语言资源,人的表义过程会标示主体间性。通过考察话语分析领域对元话语的认识和梳理语言学领域对主体间性的释解,揭示了主体间性的本质内涵,分析了元话语与主体间性之间的关系,认为主体间性是元话语使用中自然带有的一种内在属性,元话语不仅是人话语交际过程中主体间性意识的外在表达,而且是展示话语主体间性的主要符号资源。

Metadiscourse comes to be linguistic resources commonly used in people’s meaning processes, which are often carried out with their intersubjectivity signified. With an examination of the understandings of metadiscourse in the field of discourse analysis and the interpretations in the field of linguistics, the paper reveals the essential connotation of intersubjectivity and provides an analysis of the relationship between metadiscourse and intersubjectivity. The paper argues that intersubjectivity is an inherent attribute of metadiscourse in use. It is also recognized in the paper that metadiscourse is not only the external expression of the intersubjective consciousness in people’s communication, but also the major semiotic resource manifesting discoursal intersubjectivity.
