The five fundamental characteristics of glass are originated from the amorphous structure remained during the glass melt cooling process.As the guiding principle,it is of practical importance to both glass production and teaching.In the teaching process,we found out that the detailed introduction of the characteristics was very helpful for the students to get a good understanding of glass theory,to provide a good foundation for an open knowledge structure of glass.
