被称为"鸳鸯蝴蝶派主力"、"中国现代通俗文学史上的名编辑"的赵苕狂,20世纪二三十年代一直在上海从事通俗文学期刊的编辑活动,同时也创作了大量的通俗文学作品,其中以侦探小说为多,影响也最大。他的侦探小说代表作品《胡闲探案》系列,从人物形象、叙事方式、前后期的变化等方面,体现出中国早期现代侦探小说的类型特征。

Zhao Tiaokuang,who was described as “the main force of Mandarin Duck and Butterfly School”and“the famous editor in the history of Chinese modern popular literature”,was engaged in editing activities of the popular literary journal in Shanghai in 1920s and 1930s.He created a lot of popular literary works,and detective novels were the most influential of all.Huxian Detective Fiction ,the representative work of his detective novels,reflected the genre characteristics of early Chinese modern detective novels from the character image,the narrative pattern,the variety of earlier and later period, etc.
