A Stylistic Study on Sit-Comedy: A Case Study of Friends

基于美国情景喜剧的经典代表作《老友记》,选取第一季试播的第一集为语言素材,从文体学的多维角度即语相、语音、词汇学以及修辞手法等角度,辅以量化的研究方法,分析研究该剧本的语言特点。通过文本分析,从语言的角度客观呈现真实语境下的人物语言沟通,有助于更好地理解语言的使用,提高英语学习者的理解能力。

Based on the classic sit-comedy Friends, the paper analyzes the linguistic material from the first set of the first season. With the assistance of quantitative methods, the linguistic features are disclosed from such multi-dimensional aspects in stylistics as graphology, phonics, lexicology and rhetorical devices. Verbal communication in the true context is objectively revealed by text analysis. Through stylistic analysis, the application of language can be further understood so as to promote English learners＇ comprehension capability.
