Qian Gechuan can be rated as a master of prose either from the quantity or from the quality of his works. However, his name is seldom mentioned in the history of modem literature or prose, not to say his status or evaluation. Though Qian Gechuan＇s prose is often commented and admired, it is rarely studied in depth or systematically. The artistic style of Qian Gechuan＇s prose is prominently expressed as kindness, calmness and humour.
