Being a city close to Japan and South Korea, Dalian enjoys great geographic advanta-ges. Japan and South Korea’ s cultural industries have grown rapidly and achieved great success since the governments attach importance to the development of cultural industries, enact relevant laws, increase investment and personnel training efforts. As an emerging industrial city in North-east Asia, Dalian has greater potential in cultural industry and more successful precedents but it still has a long way to go. Therefore, we should learn from the successful experience of Japan and South Korea so as to promote the further development of cultural industries in Dalian. Inspi-rations for the perfection of the cultural industries in Dalian are presented.
